🚨 State Supplemental Pay Update

President Basco spoke at the Louisiana Municipal Association's (LMA) Board meeting in Baton Rouge about the upcoming change in state supplemental pay.

Several months ago the Louisiana Municipal Pay Board voted to stop paying individual officers their supplemental payment but chose to send the money in a lump sum to the officer's respective municipality.

Individual officers have concerns the payments will not continue to occur at the beginning of the month like is customary.

President Basco addressed the LMA Board with this concern and explained to them the importance of keeping this tradition.

The LMA Board was very receptive and has sent an advisory packet to their member municipalities asking them to continue the first of the month payment. While they do not have the power to require the payment structure they are highly encouraging the process to remain unchanged.

The letter from President Basco will be distributed to all local municipalities.
