Louisiana Honors Fallen Law Enforcement Heroes with Special Resolutions Reading at State Capitol

In a tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of its law enforcement officers, both Houses of the Legislature will read resolutions in honor of the officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year at the Louisiana State Capitol this coming Monday. We ask that attendees be at the Capitol at 1PM for the reading after convening.

The annual reading is a time for reflection and remembrance, recognizing the courageous men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the safety and security of communities across Louisiana. Family members, colleagues, and citizens will gather in the Capitol’s chambers for the reading, which promises to be a moving tribute to these fallen heroes.

“We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to these officers and their families,” said a spokesperson for the event. “This ceremony is just one way we can show our respect and remember their selfless acts of bravery and service.”

The resolutions will detail the heroic actions and dedicated service of each officer, serving as a poignant reminder of the risks they face daily. Law enforcement agencies from across the state are encouraged to attend, not only to honor their fallen comrades but to stand in solidarity with their families and the communities affected by these profound losses.

All officers and department personnel are urged to attend in uniform to show their support and respect for their fallen colleagues. No firearms are allowed in the Capitol. The event is open to the public, and all are welcome to join in paying tribute to these brave individuals.

This Police Week, let us come together to remember those who have fallen and remind ourselves of the courage and dedication that these officers showed every day on the job. Join us at the Louisiana State Capitol on Monday at 1 PM for this important occasion.
