During this legislative session, the Louisiana Fraternal Order of Police is tracking several pieces of critical legislation important to rank and file law enforcement officers.

You can be part of our grassroots advocacy by sending an email to your Senator and Representative through our VoterVoice system.

Currently, we are asking members and supporters of law enforcement to send emails on these 3 important issues.

HB 442, this legislation by Representative Edmonds would provide a bullet-proof vest to all law enforcement officers in Louisiana. When attacks on LEO’s are increasing this legislation is essential.

HB 85, the Louisiana Law Enforcement Safety Act. This legislation by Representative Mike Johnson would create a 25 foot safety zone for law enforcement officers while conducting their official duties during investigations and traffic stops.

SB 33 increases supplemental pay. This legislation by Senator Bodi White would make a permanent increase to state supplemental pay for eligible LEO’s to $600 per month. There has not been a permanent increase since 2009.
